(1) Symptoms:
Affected fish initially appear lethargic, floating motionlessly, move slowly, isolate from the group, show reduced appetite or even anorexia, exhibit darkening of the body, red patches on the abdomen, swollen anus, and in early stages, discharge white thread-like mucus or suffer from constipation.
(2) Preventive Measures:
Use antibiotics such as oxytetracycline (0.25 g), tetracycline (0.25 g), or norfloxacin (0.1 g). Dosage: 2 tablets per 50 kg of water. Soak for 2–3 days, then change the water.
(3) Treatment Methods:
  • Dissolve 0.1–0.2 g of nitrofurazone or furazolidone in 5 kg of water, and bathe the sick fish for 20–30 minutes, once daily.
  • Administer nitrofurazone or furazolidone solution throughout the pond, with a dosage of 0.1 g per 50 kg of water.
  • Mix furazolidone into artificial feed at a dosage of 0.1 g per 1 kg of fish body weight, and feed to the sick fish once daily for 3–4 consecutive days.
