(1) Symptoms:
Trichodina primarily parasitizes the gills and body surface of fish, but can also attach to the fins or head.
(2) Preventive Measures:
Soak the infected fish in a solution of 8×10⁻⁶ mg/L copper sulfate for 30 minutes, adding 5×10⁻⁶ mg/L chloramphenicol during the treatment.
(3) Treatment Methods:
  • Bathe the infected fish in a formaldehyde solution at 25×10⁻⁶ mg/L for 15–20 minutes, or apply formaldehyde at (1.5–2)×10⁻⁶ mg/L throughout the entire pond.
  • Soak the infected fish in a solution of 8×10⁻⁶ mg/L copper sulfate for 20–30 minutes, or in a 1%–2% saline solution for 2–10 minutes.
  • Apply a mixture of 0.5×10⁻⁶ mg/L copper sulfate and 0.2×10⁻⁶ mg/L ferrous sulfate throughout the entire pond.
