Koi with black markings on a white, red, or yellow base are called Bekko koi.
(1) Shiro Bekko: Shiro Bekko refers to Taisho Sanke koi without the red patterns, meaning koi with black markings on a white base. In China, it is often referred to as "Bekko." Those with a pure white head, without a yellowish tint, are considered high-quality specimens.

(2) Aka Bekko: Koi with a red base and black patterns on the back are called Aka Bekko. The texture and appearance of the black markings are exactly the same as those on Shiro Bekko.
