(1) Symptoms:
Dactylogyrus parasites attach to the fish's gills, causing the gill covers to remain open and difficult to close. The gill filaments appear grayish or pale.
(2) Preventive Measures:
Use a heater to raise and maintain the water temperature at 25°C or above.
(3) Treatment Methods:
  • Crystalline Trichlorfon Treatment:
Soak the infected fish in a crystalline trichlorfon solution at a concentration of (0.5–1)×10⁻⁶ mg/L, or apply the solution throughout the entire pond.
  • Potassium Permanganate Treatment:
Soak the infected fish in a potassium permanganate solution at a concentration of 20×10⁻⁶ mg/L, with the duration adjusted according to water temperature:
    • 20–30 minutes at 10–20°C,
    • 15 minutes at 20–25°C,
    • 10–15 minutes at temperatures above 25°C.
