Alliin/allicin can effectively repel parasites in fish, primarily due to its potent natural bioactive properties. It contains powerful sulfur-containing compounds that significantly disrupt and damage the nervous systems and metabolic enzymes of parasites (such as certain protozoa and helminths), thereby paralyzing or even killing them. Furthermore, the distinctive pungent odor and taste of allicin cause discomfort to parasites, prompting them to actively detach from their host. It also stimulates intestinal peristalsis in koi, aiding in the expulsion of parasites. Additionally, allicin itself possesses broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal properties, reducing the risk of secondary infections caused by parasites. Moreover, it enhances the fish's own immunity, helping koi better resist parasitic infestations.
Garlic with fish food

Note on Application: It is commonly used as a feed additive (mixed with food). For optimal effectiveness, it should be used at appropriate concentrations and durations, avoiding overdosing, which can potentially cause gastrointestinal irritation. Its effectiveness may vary depending on the parasite species and severity of infestation.
